Olivia had her piglets Thursday night. Eleven in total. So far all are doing well. She is a very good mom and loves her babies. They love her also as you can see in the picture above!
New chicks arrived Friday.
The new high tunnel is complete just in time for several frosts this week. We are hoping to have fresh greens available all winter!
This recipe can be used for the Hon Tsai Tai, Baby Bok Choy or the greens on the Daikons. All of each vegetable can be used. Simply trim the very bottom, rough chop and add to the oil. Even the flowers are edible and highly nutritious on the Hon Tsai Tai.
One bunch Asian greens, trimmed, washed and rough cut
Sesame oil to coat pan
1/2 tsp peeled, minced fresh ginger or garlic
dash good soy sauce
Heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add greens and stir to coat. Add minced ginger. Cook, stirring continuously for 5 minutes. If using bok choy, remove now and douse with soy sauce. If using radish greens or hon tsai tai, lower heat, put cover on pot and cook, stirring occasionally, another 5 minutes.
